  • Office Hours: 4 days per week Mon – Fri and every other Sat
  • Must be a Certified Dental Assistant having completed institutional education and clinical training. *Online courses are not an accepted method of education*
  • Applicant should be comfortable with all Admin responsibilities and able to assist DDS with Xrays in times of emergencies.
  • Essential responsibilities include:
    • Maintaining Dr and/or Hygiene schedule.
    • Must have good understanding of Dental Insurance
    • Must be energetic and people oriented
    • Comfortable discussing treatment and dental conditions with patients
    • Must enjoy reaching out to patients via telephone
    • Must be organized and have good attention to detail.
    • Organizing appointment book, making financial arrangements and taking payments
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    Desired Skills:
  • 3 Years experience as a full time Dental Receptionist
  • Currently licensed in Canada, USA, or UK and in good standing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with mathematics and handling 2 currencies
  • Computer literate

Registered Dental Assistant with Orthodontic Module.

We currently have an opportunity for a Dental Assistant within our Cayman Islands Orthodontic Practice.  Applicant should be comfortable with Admin responsibilities as well as having their Ortho Module.  In addition to a competitive salary, we offer benefits!

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Discussing treatment and financials with patients
  • Bonding Orthodontic brackets and lingual wire retainers
  • Changing and replacing power chain and orthodontic hardware such as arch wires
  • Invisalign impressions using a 3 Shape Trios scanner
  • Leading a team
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining inventory
  • Organizing appointment book, making financial arrangements and taking payments

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Desired Skills:

  • 3 Years experience as a Dental Assistant preferred
  • Currently licensed in Canada and in good standing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate Ie. Excel, word and social media marketing
  • Orthodontic Module with some experience

REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST

At Smile Dental, our hygienists are valued team members who play an integral role in patient care and treatment. Essential responsibilities include:

  • Candidates must be enthusiastic about their dental work, and willing to provide the highest level of care at all times.
  • Patient screening, medical history and dental charting.
  • Application of fluoride and protective sealants. Removal of calculus, stain and plaque from above and below the gum line.
  • Provides nutritional counseling, and self-care programs to prevent disease.
  • In-Office Whitening
  • Must be able to “set the stage” for the DDS prior to the exam and be part of the treatment planning dialogue with the patient and dentist.
  • Changing and replacing orthodontic hardware such as arch wires and lingual      bonded retainers.
  • Must be detail oriented and quality focused
  • Must possess excellent time management skills
  • Mentoring young students interested in a career in Dental Hygiene
  • Must be willing to assist in all aspects of the office

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with Orthodontics

REGISTERED DENTAL ASSISTANT

The duties of our dental assistants are among the most comprehensive and varied in the dental office. The dental assistant performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
  • Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays).
  • Asking about the patient’s medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse.
  • Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
  • Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment.
  • Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
  • Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).
  • Taking impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts (models of teeth).
  • Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer.
  • Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies).
  • Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery.
